Kiki Valera brings his red hot band of high energy Cuban son music to Bake's Place on Friday, May 31st as part of the Bellevue Jazz Festival. Featuring Cuban cuatro virtuoso Kiki Valera & 3x Grammy Award winning vocalist Carlos Cascante of Spanish Harlem Orchestra. This is authentic traditional Cuban music brought to you by the former director of Santiago de Cuba's beloved son septeto, La Familia Valera Miranda. Enjoy the intricate polyrhythms of percussionists Pedro Vargas on bongos and Joe de Jesus on congas. Rounding out the group will be Javier Marú on guitar, Alfredo Polier on vocals and maracas, Steve Mostovoy on trumpet and Dean Schmidt on bass.
